Winning Milton bus shelter

by Alison Hullyer
Alison Hullyer’s winning design for a new bus shelter in Milton has been installed
Three newly refurbished bus shelters were unveiled in Milton this month. The Parish Council held a competition earlier in the year and Alison’s design was one of the three voted for by the community. The design is inspired by the wildlife Alison sees on her daily dog walks in Milton Country Park. She was keen to have points of interest at all height levels, from fish swimming low down in the reeds, to a kingfisher perched on a bulrush, looking up to a flock of geese flying into the sunset.
The money for the project came from an Arts Grant from a housing developer. Alison says: “I was thrilled to see my artwork on such a large scale. It certainly brightens up the not particularly beautiful end of the village, near Tesco and the Industrial Estate”. She thanked the Parish Council for the initiative.
