Fitzwilliam Museum Commission

In March 2022 I was commissioned by the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge to create large glass dishes inspired by macrophotography images of the insides of trees to compliment their exhibition “True to Nature” which runs from 3 May 2022 to 30 August 2022. The exhibition features a fantastic selection of the most amazing and excellent paintings of the natural environment – landscapes, the sea, the sky, rocks, weather, volcanic eruptions, plants and trees. A range of geological specimins are on show including rare “hair” larva from Hawaii. In the last room a video slide show of macrophotographic images of trees. My dishes and a range of glass and silver jewellery inspired by the same macrophotographic images are on sale in the Fitzwilliam Museum Shop.

The exhibition is at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Trumpington St, Cambridge CB2 1RB open 10.00 to 17.00 Tuesday – Saturday, 12.00 – 17.00 Sunday
