Jewellery, Metalwork
Silver jewellery with gold, enamel and stones, silverware, bowls, spoons and boxes plus screen-printed enamel panels for wall hangings or coasters.
Contemporary handmade jewellery, my work is mainly in silver, incorporating colour with stones and enamel. Colour is an important element of my work and I am interested in the concept of enamel as painting with glass, blending colours to create subtle variations of tone. My work includes screen printing on to panels, layering colours and creating textured finishes. I am interested in balancing solid forms with space, designing jewellery which is unique and catches the viewer’s attention. Recent silversmithing work includes bowls, boxes, spoons and silverware. Graduating from the Sir John Cass College of Art and Design in London, with an HND specialising in jewellery and enamelling, prizes include a bursary from Goldsmith’s Hall, Second Prize for Body of Work from Goldsmith’s Hall, the British Jewellers Enamelling Award, and nomination for the British Jewellery Association Student of the Year Award in 2007. Exhibitions include New Designers 2007, Studio Fusion London, Primavera Cambridge Open Studios and the Bistro Gallery at the Arthur Rank Hospice, Cambridge.
