Lesley Anne Rumble

painting, drawing

I draw from life and from imagination and memories, the weather, people, animals, and natural patterns being my inspiration.

The weather, its effects on the land and sea, people, animals, journeys, and naturally occuring abstract shapes are constant themes and inspiration for my paintings, but like many people, I found it hard to keep up the momentum last year.  It has been important to draw daily, so from the start of this year I have chosen objects and subjects that surround me, creating a theme of 25 images per page.

I am actively involved in the Cambridge District Art Circle and am a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society and the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists. I trained as an illustrator/ graphic designer at Maidstone College of Art then as an Art Teacher at Brighton College in the 1970s. I hope to return to teaching my adult students later this year.
