pen and ink, pastels, watercolours
My passion for bright, fresh colours and interest in stained glass has led me to experiment with design and pattern.
Having worked in The Stained Glass Museum in Ely Cathedral for the past six years my influences are many and varied; from the brilliant colours and patterns of the medieval glass artists to the elegant forms and decorative motifs of the Pre-Raphaelites. Twentieth century glass artists using microscopic images of cells and micro-organisms reveal a huge variety of structures and patterns as do the natural forms of leaves and flowers I see on my daily walks along the river Ouse.
My love of dogs and their quirky characters has led me to take commissions for pets drawn in a modern, fresh style using soft pastels.
I have a BA Hons in Fine Art and continue to learn new techniques by attending life drawing classes and more recently a pottery evening class run by a fellow COS member.
