Jackie Duckworth

printmaking, textiles

I use linocut, collagraph and monoprints to explore history and folk lore. I often express these narratives in images of birds and animals.

I studied Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, using printmaking as my core technique. This love of narrative is also expressed in my more personal work. My linocuts on paper use striking compositions and a limited palette to tell their stories. Recent explorations in monoprint and collagraph allow for more expressive markmaking.

I like to experiment with combining techniques; printing linocuts onto monoprints, collagraphs, or textiles. I also love to work in a more traditional way with the pattern and colour of printed fabric.
