Oil painting, photography, digital art and printmaking, and work with fused glass, all inspired by restorative walks in the UK and abroad, and from my passion for art and nature. When I am not painting, doing photography, or working on digital images which I have enjoyed working on this year during lockdown, I am exploring ideas in glass, fused glass with metal inclusions, creating interesting shapes and textures sometimes as flat planes or fused into bowls. This year I have also created multilayered fused glass pendants as a new venture. I am inspired by the exploration and relationship between form and texture, order and chaos, colour combinations, balance in relationships, but mostly by the light, which I feel is the one element that brings a piece of work to life. Since graduating from Central St, Martins, in Painting, I have exhibited in mixed and solo shows in Cyprus, London and galleries in and around Cambridge, in Essex and 2016 in Bury St Edmunds. I have had solo exhibitions in Cyprus, in 2009, October 2013, May 2016, and mixed shows in 2017 and 2018. I have done art fairs in Ely and Bury St Edmunds, given talks about my work and I was interviewed on RIC television in 2009 and 2013 for a programme on Art and Culture. I have done open studios since 1999 and have over the years enjoyed interacting and meeting people interested in art and culture, and have enjoyed meeting new and many returning visitors each year. In 2018 and 2019 I have enjoyed running drawing workshops at the Arthur Rank Hospice which has been greatly rewarding. Sharing my enthusiasm for the love of art and to inspire other art lovers to enjoy and have fun with the creative process makes my day.

I have been a member of Cambridge Camera Club and have been very much into photography. I am always inspired by my restorative walks, locally and in my travels taking photographs. I use Photoshop and through using layers transform them in effect into paintings. It’s painting with pixels using the programme as a tool. This though has not diminished my first passion in painting by using oils and getting my hands dirty.
