Emily specialises in expressive abstract paintings incorporating emulsion paint
An abstract artist, Emily’s main focus is painting incorporating emulsion paints. Her work is influenced by Modernism, including Abstract Expressionism, as well as artists that reference minimalism such as Eva Hesse. Recent work includes direct references to natural forms from the Cambridgeshire landscape.
‘I aim to create work that invites contemplation.
‘As a maker, I’m interested in the nature of producing art and of crafting – the drive to do it, authorship, and working with materials sympathetically. Much of my work explores mark making and the extent to which this is controlled by the artist.
‘Inspiration comes from all manner of observation, experiences and thought.’

Looking for July open studios venue
I’m based in Huntingdon but could be flexible about where I show this July and would be interested in sharing a space / joining a group with other artists. My work tends to be abstract, usually drawing on abstract expressionism and minimalism, though I work in varied scales and styles so could develop / select work that would be most appropriate to a group setting. emilyjolley.co.uk firstname.lastname@example.org
