Ceramics / Pottery, Illustration, Painting
I work outside recording landscapes in pastel and also make stoneware pots. In village turn right into Cowslip Drive then immediate left along Watson’s Lane. Visitors welcome by appointment all year.
I was born and brought up in Ely, the cathedral city in the Fens where the striking landscape continues to influence my work.
Drawing, painting and making have always been part of my life and working as a teacher for many years has enabled me to share this love of art.
A sense of place is important to me and I hope this can be seen in my work as I observe outside, recording seasonal changes in colour and light. I make stoneware pots large and small, which also describe place and memory for me.
I have an MA in children’s book illustration from Cambridge School of Art and find myself often creating, I hope, atmospheric characters for possible stories.
