Illustration, Painting, Printmaking
Drypoints depicting nature, birds, bikes and local scenes. Professional illustrator. Own range of cards, tea towels and coasters. Well signposted.
Alison graduated in Graphic Design in 1990 and now works as a professional illustrator and printmaker. She designs primarily for the stationery industry mainly for Flamingo Paperie (formerly Phoenix Trading). She has also licenced designs to Green Pebble and Artist’s Cards. Her printmaking work continues to be inspired by her daily dog walks; from skeletal winter trees to close-up studies of seed heads, birds and pebbles. VK gallery in St Ives stock her prints as well as her own range of cards and screen-printed tea towels. She also supplies National Trust shops at Anglesey Abbey, Wicken Fen, Wimpole Hall, Ickworth House and Houghton Mill.
Alison was selected for the highly aclaimed 2014 and 2016 Cambridge Original Printmakers Biennale. She has participated in Open Studios every year since 1996 when she worked from her parents garage to now having her own purpose built garden studio at her home in Milton. New this year are some paintings of the Fen landscape. Alison is happy to explain her printmaking techniques; including drypoint, linoprinting and how to make collographs. She always has a large selection of published and handmade cards and wrapping paper for sale plus framed and unframed prints. Her popular collection of pick & mix coasters and range of screen printed tea towels will also be available. www.hullyer.co.uk
